Season: April - October.

How to get to Preikestolen:
By public transportation in main seson: Ferry from Fiskepirterminalen in Stavanger to Tau and corresponding bus to Preikestolen Fjellstue where you start the hike, Boreal or Tide Buss/Norled.

By public transportation in low seson: Ferry from Stavanger to Tau and corresponding bus to Jørpeland. The remaining part of the way is by taxi from Jørpeland to Preikestolen fjellstue (around 9 km).

By car: Drive to Lauvvik and cross with ferry from Lauvvik to Oanes and continue along Rv 13 and follow the signs to Preikestolen. Or go by ferry from Stavanger to Tau (40 minutes) and drive south on National Tourist Route Ryfylke following the signs to Preikestolen.

It is also wonderful to experience the Pulpit Rock from the fjord, either from a sightseeing boat or from a car ferry going from Lauvvik, Oanes, Stavanger, or from several other places of call on Lysefjorden. See timetable at www.norled.no or www.rodne.no
