The shortest way by car, bus or bike is: 
1 From Bergen: Through Hardanger to Røldal, about 200 km, 1-2 ferries.
2a From Haugesund: Along the E 134 to Nedstrand (approx 50 km + ferry to Stjernarøy) or Ropeid, about 85 km.
2b From Haugesund: E 39 across Bokn, ferry to Rennesøy. Finnfast tunnel to Finnøy.
3 From Stavanger: Ferry to Tau, 40 min, or drive through the Rennfast tunnel, across Rennesøy and through the Finnfast tunnel over to Finnøy.
4 From Sandnes: Along the Ryfylke Road, Rv 13, 24 km to Lauvvik, ferry 10 min. to Oanes.
5 From Egersund: 74 km from Egersund to Lauvvik, ferry to Oanes. (192 km Kristiansand - Egersund).
6 From Kristiansand: On Rv 9 to Brokke, then Rv 45 to Suleskar and on to Lysebotn (220 km), closed in winter. Alternative: Take Rv 9 to Røldal, approx 300 km.
7a From Oslo: Alternative 1: Through Telemark on the E 134 over Haukeli to Ryfylke via Røldal, around 340 km. NB! Tunnel expansion E134 Haukeli and Røldalsfjell. This will cause closed tunnels, convoy driving and diversion to other roads. For more information see Statens vegvesen.
7b Alternative 2: Start from Oslo as 7a, but turn off in Telemark on Rv 45 to Suleskar and on to Lysebotn, approx 360 km. Closed in winter. Ferry from Lysebotn (Or Rv 45 on to Sandnes and Lauvvik).
8 From Larvik: On Rv 36 to Seljord, then as 7a (E 134) via Haukeli, or 7b på E 134/Rv 45.
- Express boats: Express boat service from Stavanger to many places in Ryfyke, such as Tau, Fister, Judaberg, Hjelmeland, Jelsa, Sand and Sauda. A variety of express boat services are also available in Ryfylke. Visit Kolumbus or Norled for details.
- International airports: Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Haugesund and Kristiansand.
- International ferry routs: To Kristiansand, Egersund, Stavanger, Bergen, Larvik and Oslo. Visit DFDS, Fjordline, Colorline or Directferries for details.
- Train: Trains to Stavanger and Bergen from Oslo.
- Several express coach routes run to Stavanger from Oslo, Kristiansand, Bergen and Hamburg.
